American Hospital Association, McKesson award three hospitals Quest for Quality Prize

The American Hospital Association and McKesson awarded its Quest for Quality Prize to Bronson Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI for meeting all six of the Institute of Medicine's quality aims for healthcare and making a culture of safety a priority. The award is given out annually to recognize a facility that has made a commitment to innovative leadership, quality, and patient care. Bronson Medical Center will receive $75,000 for its efforts.

Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston, MA received the distinction of "finalist" for the award and will receive $12,500 for its goal of eliminating preventable harm by 2012. Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, received the "Citation of Merit" distinction for its work in engaging frontline caregivers with patient safety.
