The Boston area was hit by almost two feet of snow during this week’s blizzard, but doctors and nurses still had to make it to work.

In a report from NBC News, several staff members from the city’s hospitals made it to work during the height of the storm by skiing through the city streets, on snowshoes, or hitching rides with police.

According to one doctor interviewed, the snowy commute was more fun than treacherous, and the most dangerous thing was dodging the snow plows. But as she put it, the emergency department is one of those places where 24 hours a day, 7 days a week you have to get to work.
