A father who attempted to take his newborn son out of a San Jose, California hospital against the mother’s wishes was arrested Aug. 11, according to a report from KCBS-TV.

Reports say the man walked out of the mother’s room at O’Connor Hospital with the infant around 9:40 a.m. and tripped a monitoring alarm, alerting staff members and triggering a “Code Pink” alert. Following procedures practiced in drills, staff members went to the elevators and stairwells and blocked the man’s exit from the hospital.

San Jose police were called, and the unidentified man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and child endangerment, the report said. The baby was not harmed and was reunited with its mother.
