Two killed in Michigan hospital shooting

Two people, including a worker at a hospital in Lansing, Michigan, were killed October 21 in what’s being called a murder-suicide in the parking lot of McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.

According to the report, Johnnie Conner Jr., a 44-year-old Lansing man, shot and killed Bessie Saline Rodriguez, a 43-year-old Lansing woman, and then killed himself around 7 a.m. in the hospital’s back parking lot.

According to the report, Rodriguez, who was a McLaren employee, died at a local hospital. Conner was pronounced dead at the scene. Police quoted in the report said the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute and a firearm was found at the scene. No further detail were available, but hospital officials briefly locked the hospital down during the incident, the Free Press reported.
