Washington hospitals standardize hospital codes

In an effort to accommodate the many physicians and nurses who work at more than one hospitals, a group of Washington hospitals are working together to standardize a list of codes commonly heard in the hospital, reports the Tri-City Herald. Many states have embarked on projects to standardize patient wrist bands, but the Washington State Hospital Association has decide to coordinate an effort to also standardize surgical checklists, emergency code calls, and signs for isolation precautions.
