Colorado next state to offer Web-based hospital scorecard
December 5, 2007
The state of Colorado and the Colorado Hospital Association have partnered to create a Web site that helps consumers sift through the large amount of healthcare-related information available, reports The Denver Post. The site, called The Colorado Hospital Report Card, offers visitors a chance to choose the results they would like to see. For example, viewers can search for hospital results on mortality measures, patient safety measures, and prevention measures, to name a few.The report card was created to uphold standards of transparency that have taken hold across the nation. Fewer than 12 other states have created similar databases, reports the article.
