Handoff Communication at Shift Change - A3 Document sample

The A3 report is a common tool used in Lean methodology to make processes more efficient, effective, and safe. It is a worksheet that helps organizations view processes with a microscope, drill down to specific areas identified with a value stream map, document problem-solving activity, and tell the story visually. Figure 8.1 from Lean Healthcare in Action: A Practical Guide to Streamlining Processes is an example of how an A3 would be filled out for handoff communication at shift change.
